Joomla! version: 2.5.8
PHP version: 5.2.13 & 5.3.14
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: Blue Genisis
Akeeba Backup version: 3.6.12 & 3.7.6

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I'm having trouble accessing the professional features. One site is an upgrade to 3.6.12 since it is still under PHP 5.2.13 for the moment, the second is a new backup installation to the most recent version. No matter what I do it keeps telling me I need to upgrade to professional. I did the install on both sites multiple times from the copy link option.

I am quite sure it will never ask you to explicitly upgrade to professional. Perhaps you mean that it reports that an update is available?

Thank you for your quick response.

As I mentioned, I appear to be having trouble accessing the professional features. How do I tell if the Professional Version of Backup is installed on my site?

When I go to "Scheduling Information" I see the message: "This feature is only available in Akeeba Backup Professional" with an "Upgrade Now" button.

It's a little confusing that there is no separate professional version to download The only info I could find in the instructions is that to upgrade you need to do the upload and install twice. I did that. Then I tried to install from a new site that didn't yet utilize backup.

Are you sure you have downloaded the Professional package? The name of the zip file ends in -pro.zip. That's the one you have to install twice. I suspect that you have the -core.zip file instead.

I'm really sorry, I can't find anywhere that says pro version or -pro.zip. I apologize if I'm missing something.

I log in.
Under "My Account" I click on "Downloads"
I scroll down to "Akeeba Backup" where it says "Inside its releases you will find Akeeba Backup Core (the free version) and Akeeba Backup Professional (the subscription-based version with extra features)"
I click on " 3.6.12(Stable)"
There are two options: "Backup Core" and "PDF Documentation"
I follow the instructions under Backup Core when you hover on "Direct Link" were it says "Can be used to easily install our Professional Joomla! Extensions"

Where can I download a -pro.zip file?

OK, now I understand what happens :) Please try logging out of AkeebaBackup.com and back in. You will now see the Professional downloads.

I've been in and out since I purchased this subscription on April 11th a whole bunch of times. I just tried from another computer that I've never logged in with before. I'm sorry, I just can't find it.

I just realised that you have a Commerce subscription. You only get access to Akeeba Subscriptions Professional and Akeeba Ticket System. You don't have access to Akeeba Backup Professional or Admin Tools Professional. Did you buy the wrong kind of subscription? Which software did you intend on using?

I'm sorry. I guess I wanted the Essentials Edition that includes Backup Pro and Admin. I was recently purchasing stuff elsewhere and the subscriptions were progressive, the larger including that software below. I guess I must have just read that into yours thinking Backup Pro was included. As I read it now again it is clear. This explains a lot! Is it possible to switch me to Essentials so that I can access Backup Pro. That's the only thing I've attempted to download so far.

Please let me know when you get me switched to download Backup Pro. You mentioned it would be a couple of minutes, but it still isn't available yet.

Oh, sorry! I had another case identical to you at the same time. I changed their account and forgot to do the same for your account. I have fixed it right now. Please log out and back in to get access to the downloads.

Thank you for your wishes :) It's now looking much better in Cyprus and I was able to resume operations there last week. It's been a rough 6 weeks but, fortunately, this is now past us :)
