Joomla! version: Joomla! 3.1.1
PHP version: 5.3.13
MySQL version: 5.5.29
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you) PAPAKI.GR
Akeeba Backup version: Akeeba Backup Professional 3.7.6

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I have two Joomla site on same host (Papaki). On the main site under httpdocs command line /usr/bin/php -f /var/www/vhosts/speedydev.co.uk/httpdocs/cli/akeeba-backup.php works successfully. When I try Command Line under any other web folder, I have tried both Joomla! 2.5.11 and 3.1.1) I get the above error.

The Akeeba configuration is exactly the same on both web sites. All other backup methods work just fine, it's only the command line that fails. I have also submitted a ticket on Papaki as myself believe it may be related to using a different folder than the default httpdocs.

I have already tried to change Akeeba config settings as you proposed into a previous ticket.

Any ideas?

Kind regards,

Alexandros

The folder is unrelated. What is going on is that your database user does not have adequate privileges to do a SHOW TABLES or SHOW CREATE which are required in producing a database backup. Please give your database users the necessary MySQL privileges.

I have escalated this to my host, as I can't change privileges myself. Not a big issue anyhow as the cli/akeeba-altbackup.php works just fine.

BTW I really like the new admin tools layout :)

Hm, that's strange, because akeeba-backup.php and akeeba-altbackup.php should be using the same database connection information. If it helps, please ask your host to check if PHP CLI can connect to your database. Perhaps that's the real issue and not what I assumed (sorry, lacking any direct evidence to either I suggested what is the most common source of this error message).
