Joomla! version: 2.5.13
PHP version: 5.3
MySQL version:
Host: siteground
Akeeba Backup version: 3.7.10

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it. "No Log File Found"

Description of my issue: I get a "output directory unwritable" error when I attempt to run a backup from either the back or fronted. All folders are writable, so there must be some other issue that is a problem.

thanks for the help

Your backup output directory is not writeable by PHP. The output directory is set in the Configuration page. The default backup output directory is administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup. You should give that directory 0777 permissions.
