Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? yes
Joomla! version: 2.5.11
PHP version: 5.3
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: GoDaddy
Akeeba Backup version: 3.7.10

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

My backups are failing with this error:

Backup Failed
The backup operation has been halted because an error was detected.
The last error message was:

AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 0 (error)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 0
Raw server response:

I don't see an explicit error in the log file but the Managed Backups page shows the backup failed. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps. It has worked a few times but fails most.

According to the log file there is no error. It's as if your computer was disconnected from the Internet.

I agree yet the Manage Backup page says failure and I have no backup file.

Would it matter that this site is installed under another site? I have a site at www.cyberwebart.com that is not a Joomla site. This site is at www.cyberwebart.com/Joomla. I have it there temporarily while I am updating it then wanted to back it up then move it to it's real home. I don't think that should matter.

Seeing that you are using GoDaddy (the absolute worst of all hosts out there) this doesn't come as a big surprise. Their crappy, overcrowded servers do randomly drop connections and kill processes without a reason. Let's try some settings which will make the backup dead slow but might keep NoDaddy happy:

- Minimum execution time: 5 seconds
- Maximum execution time: 3 seconds (not a typo; max is less than min)
- Runtime bias: 50%

Then find the Archiver Engine row and click on Configure next to it. A new pane opens below. Set the Part size for split archives setting to 5 Mb.

Save and take a new backup. Yes, it's excruciatingly slow. But does it run to the end?
