Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 2.5.6
PHP version: 5.3.24
MySQL version: 5.1.70-cll
Host: UnitedHosting
Akeeba Backup version: 3.8.1

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I upgraded to Akeeba backup 3.8.1 today and now the profiles configured to backup up remotely fail with the error:

AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 500 (Internal Server Error)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 4
Raw server response:
[an error occurred while processing this directive]

The default profile that backups to the default akeeba folder in joomla works perfectly

I have recreated a new profile from scratch to backup up to a remote FTP server but still get the error.

Before the upgrade all backups worked well including the scheduled CRON job that ran our backups remotely to our FTP server.

Please help

King regards, Richard

Richard,

Pleae check your server error log for more information on the 500 error. There should be more information there that will help to solve this issue. Note that the error log is not the same as the access log.

Hi

Log file is attached

There are no logon failures, we see it connect, we see data transfers, we can see the backup files, howver the Akeeba fails before the upload has finished, however the FTP server is still receiving the files after the akeeba error message appears and the data transfer finishes around 25 seconds after the akkeba error is displayed

Regards

Richard

I'm sorry, I wasn't specific enough. I was looking for your web server error log (Apache?) from UnitedHosting. That is the one that will have information about the 500 error.

Understood. Please find the error log attached

dlb
It may be a timeout issue. Please go to your CRON backup Configuriaton, under Advanced Configuration and Archiver Engine, change the Part size for split archives to 5. This is a very small number and will result in an unmanageable number of parts if your website is large. If it succeeds in transferring the small part size then we've found the problem, we then need to increase the part size until it fails again to see how high we can get it and still not trigger the error.
