Description of my issue:
When Installing Akeeba Backup Core v. 3,8,2 I get following error:

UPDATE:
I removed all Akeeba backup versions and installed v3.7.2
It works fine. Any ideas why the newer versions might not work ?

Arthur,

I can see from your screenshot that the FOF layer was not the correct version for the 3.8.2 version of Backup. The FOF should have automatically upgraded with 3.8.2. All of the Akeeba extensions use the FOF layer and with that last round of updates you needed to update all Akeeba extensions at the same time. And the Akeeba extensions are not the only ones that use Nicholas' FOF layer. Is it possible that you might have updated another extension after Backup that could have changed the FOF?

It should all be automatic and I have not seen any problems like you are describing with the 3.8.2 update. All I can suggest is to try the update again and watch the installed list post upgrade to make sure there are no error messages.
