EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I am getting the update links for akeeba 3.10 but when I try to update from either the email or from going to the site I am getting the error message JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file and the install fails.

I saw where you pointed one person to an update in download ID's and I have put the new download ID in and it makes no difference. I am also not getting notification to update Joomla to the latest version 2.5.18

One more thing if it helps, when Akeeba tries to backup for the update it also throws off this error.

Invalid package type. The update can not proceed.

dlb
You almost had it! After you enter the new Download ID you will need to hit the "refresh" button on the Live Update screen to update the link.

Yep, that did it, I logged out and back in and thought that would refresh everything, but apparently not. The refresh button took care of it. Thank you. I will post this on Linked in, maybe it will save you some tickets.
