EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Automated Cron job fails. Please see attached. Mentions msqli but not sure what this means.

/usr/local/bin/php /home/USERNAME/public_html/cli/akeeba-backup.php --profile=1

Does a backup from the back end of your site complete properly? My first thoughts are some sort of host limitation, you are out of disk space or your host imposes a maximum on the file size that you can create. If the problem is a maximum file size, all we have to do is set up split archives.

I can run a backup manually from akeeba fine and it sends it to amazons3. I have other sites running the same cron job on the same host and they are fine. I have split archives set. It must be peculiar to this site. There is plenty of space available for the tmp file.

Well thanks Alex, you sure made short work of all the easy answers! :-)

Please upgrade to 3.10.1. No I don't think that will fix it but since I can't see what is stopping the CRON job I'll have to send this to Nicholas and he'll tell you to upgrade so I may as well beat him to it.

Please let me know if there is any change in the CRON job and if not I'll flag this for Nicholas.
