EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Hi, i update my AkeebaB first by update with my ID but do not works i gets xml error to so i decide to install manually in the manager extension at th end of the installation i get this error

500 - An error has occurred.

Your Akeeba Backup installation is broken; please re-install. Alternatively, extract the installation archive and copy the fof directory inside your site's libraries directory.

Return to Control Panel

So i try to reinstall again but know I CAN'T get in the extension manager i just get a white page and do not load nothing this is terrible and scary, know i can't install or uninstall nothing else

PLEASE THIS IS URGENT HELP

You may be able to access the Extension Manager screen if you disable the System - System Restore Points plugin. If you can not reinstall that way, you will need to manually copy the FoF folder as the error message instructed.

I understand that playing with a live site is an uncomfortable thing. The site is already broken, we're trying to fix it. The next step is to install Akeeba Backup twice, back to back without uninstalling the component. If you uninstall, you will lose all of your settings and possibly your saved backup files. The double install trick is to get around an occasional bug in the Joomla! installer where it doesn't like to add new files when in update mode.

Akeeba Backup doesn't make it possible to back up your website, it just makes it easier. If you transfer all the files from the website server to your local computer via FTP, then dump the database using phpMyAdmin or a similar utility and download the dumped SQL file, you have a backup. It is inconvenient to do and inconvenient to restore, but it will work.
