Hello,

I recently upgraded from Joomla 2.5.18 to 3.2 and after could not access Akeeba Backup. When I try Components>Akeeba Backup I get redirected to the Control Panel page. After hours of research found nothing that would lead me to a solution, also I noticed that when I click System>System Information I get the following...

An error has occurred.

0 SQL=SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM 1

In researching about this I found this chat log http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=710&t=825422&start=60 where some users had a similar error and some reported that they only had this problem in sites that contained Akeeba Backup. Dont know how accurate are their claims but found worthwhile to point out.

In regards to logs, cant access in the upgraded 3.2, the one included is for the original site in the older version 2.5.18. Also please note that for Command Line and Backend Log I only get the following message...

********************
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
********************

Thanks in advance for your efforts,

Cordially,

Got an error message trying to upload the log (less than 1mb) using Firefox and Chrome.

Your version of Akeeba Backup IS NOT compatible with Joomla! 3.2 as it predates it by several months. You must install a compatible version. At the time of this writing this means installing version 3.10.1.

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for your prompt response!

I had problems updating to a new version of Akeeba Backup before upgrading to Joomla 3.2, which in researching today, I found out the reason and how to solve it by reinserting my subscription key.

In regards to updating to Akeeba 3.10.1, is there a manual way to install it and recover the Joonla 3.2 already upgraded, or will I have to update the original again (Joomla 2.5.18) and then upgrade it to 3.2?

Thanks again,

dlb
Download Akeeba Backup 3.10.1 from our website and install it twice, back to back without uninstalling the software. If you uninstall Backup, you will lose all of your settings and possibly your saved backup archives.

If you have trouble accessing the Extension Manager page, disable the System - System Restore Points plugin.

Worked, everything seems to be fine, only the Joomla System Information that I am still getting an error message...

An error has occurred.

0 SQL=SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM 1

Heard comments that has to do with Akeeba on installation, could you tell me if this is the case? If not could you point me to where I could possibly find a solution other than Google.

Thanks again!!

No, this has nothing to do with our software. If you have any doubts the easiest way to validate my claims is to uninstall Akeeba Backup and see if this error persists.

The error message you get seems more of an issue with a third party plugin or missing tables in your database. The latter is easier to determine and fix. Go to Extensions, Extensions Manager, click on the Database tab and then click on the Fix button. If this doesn't make any change you will have to start manually disabling all system plugins one by one (except those coming with Joomla! itself!) until you find the one causing the problem.
