I've used akeeba backup quite a time now. The last weeks it seems the backups don't go right. When manually starting a backup everything seems well t'll the point the zips have to be made and uploaded through ftp. In the settings the ftp-connection works fine.

When examining the log with Angie i get these errors:
Backup engine state saving issues Error
Backup engine died without its state having been saved. The engine was stepped 101 times, saved 100 times
Please check if you have enough disk space; if your part size is more than 5Mb (or it's 0) please try part sizes of 20, 10, 5 and 2Mb.
If you still get this error, change time settings inside Akeeba Backup; try minimum execution time 1, maximum 7 and runtime bias 50. If this doesn't work try minimum 5, maximum 3 (yes, max is less than min) and bias 50.

Timeout while backing up Error
There is already an issue with the backup engine saving its state. Please fix it before continuing.
Please try setting min execution time to 1, max execution time to 10 seconds (or if the PHP timeout is less than 10 seconds, use 75% of the PHP timeout), runtime bias 75%

I've changed the suggested items but that doesn't resolve the problem. I even deinstalled and reinstalled akeeba backup without any succes.

Kind regards,
Hans

Akeeba Staff
Hello Hans,

I just checked your log. All the other parts are uploaded successfully, and the time they take is quite low.
I think that the remote server is refusing the connection since it got too many connections in a limited amount of time from the same IP.
Since your upload it's quite fast (4-5 seconds) can you please try increasing the part size by 2 or 3 times?

I mean, if now it's 10Mb, can you please try with 20Mb or 30Mb?
