EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

HI,

I have set some dir and folders not to be backed up, but when I do the backup it includes everything.

This now makes my backup file over 5GB

Any suggestions much appreciated

Hello Eddie,

exclusions are profile-based, are you using the profile where you set those exclusions?
Looking at your log, you are trying to backup multiple sites in a single step. Inside one of these sites, there are several Akeeba Backup archives, most likely this is the reason why your backup size is so big.
I'd suggest you to backup only one site at time, otherwise you could run into several issues (timeouts or backup errors); moreover you won't be able to restore only one site, you'll have to restore all the whole package (main site + subdomains).

Hi Davide,

I have attached a few images showing what has been excluded.

Although these dir and images show in the attachments (Images) has been ticked, it still backed all those up, like you say even the akeeba backups in the ssc3 dir - but ssc3 has been excluded

Looking at your screenshots, you are excluding folder SSC 2.5 not the ssc3 one.
You can have a list of all the excluded folder and files clicking on the button List all the exclusions

Hi Davide,

That was just earlier screenshots.

What I have done is create a new profile, used that with the same exclusions and that worked.

When i went back the the default profile, it did not work. Will just continue with the new profile. I will switch the site to Joomla 3 soon
