Description of my issue:

When I try to perform the Joomla 3.3.1 update, I just get redirected to a 403 Error page.

dlb
In this case the 403 error is coming from Joomla! itself, not from Akeeba.

  1. Double check your Download ID, they changed yet again with our site's upgrade to Joomla! 3.3.
  2. You can probably work around it by enabling the Joomla! ftp layer in Global Configuration.

Please ignore my previous response, it is the correct answer to a completely different question.

We have a bunch of these 403 errors open from this afternoon. Nicholas needs to look at this in the morning to see if a suggested solution will really work. Stay tuned.

This issue is fixed in the 3.11.2 release. You can also disable the System - Backup on update plugin.
