A bug report.
I just manually installed Akeeba 3.11.2 (did NOT use the button within Akeeba Admin interface - used the Extensions Installer) and get this message:
"An updated version of Akeeba Backup (3.11.2) is available for installation."

The shiny new "Reload update information" button on the right side will force the Joomla! Extension Manager cache to refresh and the message will go away. It is a Joomla! problem.
