HiΒ

I think I have the same error as in this ticket, but the resolution does not work for me.

https://www.akeeba.com/support/akeeba-backup/39476-cron-daemon-failed-opening-php.html

The error I get after twice installing it:

In AkeebaBackup.php line 232:

Failed opening required '/home/fotooase/public_html/administrator/components/com_akeeba/BackupEngine/Factory.php' (include_path='.:/opt/alt/php81/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php81/usr
/share/php:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php')

Delete the folder plugins/console/akeebabackup

Now you can go back to your site, but there is something still missing from your installation. Install Akeeba Backup's ZIP file twice in a row, without uninstalling Akeeba Backup before or in between. This will refresh the installation and everything will be back in working order.

Hi Nicholas

As I mentioned initially, this does not work for me. And yes I tried it even a third time, no success.

There is definitely some old plugin causing this. Can you please check if there is a folder plugins/console/akeeba (note that this is a different directory to what I told you in the previous reply). If that folder exists, that's an obsolete plugin from early 2021; delete the folder.

Hi Nicholas

I didn't found the akeeba folder in "plugins/console/" only a services and src folder. SoΒ I deleted "plugins/console/" completely and reinstalled the component twice.Β

Now it works again.

Thank you

Ah, that would do it. The plugins/console folder is meant to be a container for plugins. Somehow Joomla managed to install bare files into it which buggered it. Now it makes sense.
