EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 10MiB, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

running Akeeba:backup:delete from the CLI as php joomla.php akeeba:backup:delete <id>  says backup files deleted and returns 0, however, on checking the files with Akeeba:backup:list or in the administrator view the backup is still present. I appear to be only able to delete the backups from within the console

I was able to reproduce and fix this issue. Please install this dev release: https://www.akeeba.com/download/akeebabackuppro-dev/9-8-4-dev202311241233-rev3b4e227.html It is identical to 9.8.3, plus this bug fix. I believe you will see the akeeba:backup:delete command works correctly now.
