I'm having an issue trying to execute Akeeba Backup Pro in my testing environment and need your help. The backup starts but fails after a few seconds. The backup will run correctly if I try from my Liv environment. You may tell me that I can't run the backup from the testing environment, but I need to know that. I'm attaching a screencast so that you can see the steps I took and a zip of the backup log file.

The log file says that the backup has finished successfully after 77 seconds, with a backup archive that's 886155390 bytes big. That's reasonable for a modern virtualised server – it's pretty much the backup speed I get on Akamai (formerly Linode) testing servers. However, I assume that's the live site. Please keep in mind that we always need the log file of the failed backup to help you.

Luckily, in your screen recording you see an error message at 02:27 which tells you that there is a file missing from the component. Install Akeeba Backup twice in a row, without uninstalling it before or in between, to force Joomla! to put this file back. Then, your backup should work.

If the backup fails again with the message that the administrator/components/com_akeebabackup/installers/angie.jpa file does not exist, and especially if this “randomly” happens after a while since you repaired the installation using the double installation trick, you need to contact your host. We've seen some hosts which automatically delete or rename files because they have an unreliable “security scanner” which mistakes legitimate files for suspicious files.

Thanks, Nicholas.  Re-installing Akeeba Backup Pro 9.8.3 again solved the problem. I was able to take backups in my Testing environment (Stageit) the same as in my Live environment after the reinstall. I guess I had forgotten that I need to install twice.
