EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
I updated Akeeba Backup and now am getting the following error:
httpdocs/libraries/fof30/Less/footer.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/vhosts/alspec.ca/httpdocs/index.php on line 9.
There is a second error: Failed opening '/var/www/vhosts/alspec.ca/httpdocs/libraries/fof30/Less/footer.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/php563-cgi/pear') in /var/www/vhosts/alspec.ca/httpdocs/index.php on line 9
Suggestions on how to fix this?

dlb
The update was not completely applied. Please download the Akeeba Backup Pro zip file from our Downloads page if you have not already done so. Then install the program twice, back to back, without doing anything else in between. This "install twice" trick usually works around a bug in the Joomla! installer where it fails to copy all of the files during an installation or update.

I am having an issue with the file size being too large. Can I manually upload the files using FTP?

dlb
It is a little more complicated than that, but you're on the right track. The manual install instructions can be found here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-documentation/installation-updates-upgrades.html#installation-manual.

I uploaded the Akeeba files to the tmp folder and it appeared to install using the install from folder. I did it twice but the error is still showing. Suggestions?

dlb
The problem is in the fof30 library that is used by all of the Akeeba products. The installer is trying to be smart about it, since the library is already installed, it doesn't install it again. It is best to install the library the "normal" way but since that didn't work, we'll just use a bigger hammer.

Please download the fof 3.0.17 library from our downloads page, towards the bottom and install that as you would any extension. That will force the library to update.

Yes, the same errors

dlb
Please clear your browser cache. Your browser may be "remembering" that the file is not there instead of trying to load it.

If that doesn't do it, please extract the fof 3.0.17 zip file locally and upload the contents via FTP to /libraries/fof30, overwriting the existing files. Note that you may have multiple fof folders in libraries. The fof is a Joomla! core library, f0f (f zero f) is an older version of what we're trying to update and fof30 is the proper place for the upload.
