 Hi,

I have made a backup of my site and then tried to restore it via kickstart in a new dir on the same site.

This then failed.

I then followed the other method by creating kicktemp and using ftp.

This failed as well - I have tried using iframe instead of Ajax, but thats failed as well.

My backup file size is 160mb.

Unless I am doing something really stupid, any advise I can get will be of great help

Thanks

Eddie

Also, I tried to use the site transfer wizard which also failed

I have tried the Akeeba eXtraxt Wizard and the extraction fails.

See attached file.

I am using FileZilla 3.8.0 and set the download parameter to Binary.

Hello Eddie,

do you have enough space in your new server?
Kickstart will need the double of the size of the uploaded archive, can you please double check that?

Regarding Akeeba eXtract, you have to use it locally to uncompress you archive, then you have to manually upload all the files to your server.

Hi Davide,

I have unlimited space on the server. See attached image below.

I have the eXtract loaded on my MAC and tried to extract the files locally.

I just saw that in your first post you had a backup failure.
Please take another backup and, if you get an error, attach here the backup log.

Hi Davide,

I managed to get this working.

I had to revert back to Akeeba 3.8.2 and using Kickstart 3.6.0

This is the only way I could get this working. Anything after these versions fails.

I might be able to recreate the error, but that will only be tomorrow then I can send you the log file

Hi Davide,

From my first post, I created a backup and it said the backup was good.

When I used this backup to restore via kickstart (new dir on server) or ftp thats when the backup failed.

The second screenshot is the error message you get when your backup fails.
However, I'm glad you worked it out.
