How do I use kickstart to migrate the wordpress to a temporary server?

Hello,

technically you can restore it to a temporary server, but then you could have problems when you move the same site to a "proper" server, since you'll have the temporary folder segment in the path.

Honestly, it's way better to create a folder in a test site and do that there, without the need make things more complicated.
