i'm locked out of my joomla site on a localhost (mamp). the cms in joomla may be corrupt.

i have backups taken via akeeba and my database

i know how to restore the backup to a live server but how do I do it for a localhost site?

it works exactly in the same way: you copy the backup archive on the new site, you copy Kickstart and then run the extraction and restoration process.

The only difference is that you won't need any FTP client, since you are working locally: simply copy and paste the backup files to the new location.
